Payroll costing with Meridian

Meridian’s payroll costing function enables you to dissect labour data so wages can be applied to your budgets and general labour costs can be imported into your accounting system. The cost accounts are maintained in the payroll system and the structure is customisable and created according to your business and accounting system requirements. Meridian handles unlimited levels of payroll costing.

Cost splitting

Employee costing can be split across any number of cost codes or departments. The cost splitting can be applied to any of the employee’s pay components for tax, net pay or superannuation, and linked to a cost account of your choice.

Cost redirection

Meridian also enables the redirection of a percentage of costs from an employees default cost account to other cost accounts. For example, if an employee regularly works across multiple departments that are costed separately, Meridian will redirect costs accordingly.

Costing Report

The costing report is produced as part of the end of pay process, after every pay cycle is completed. It is used to balance the payroll for accuracy, as well as to input payroll information into their accounting software manually.

Integration with GL

Cost accounts can be mapped to your GL Chart of Accounts using Meridian’s optional General Ledger module. In addition to actual costs, it enables the tracking of on-costs including leave liability, accruals, payroll tax, worker’s compensation.

General Ledger Module

Meridian’s optional GL module is designed for seamless data exchange with your accounting system. It removes the need for manual data entry and calculation of on-costs including leave provisions, payroll tax and worker’s compensation.
