Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What do I need to bring when registering as a Sage MicrOpay TPP?
Your Consultant will request that you bring the following information and documents:
- Banking details.
- Tax File Number.
- Superannuation Fund details (membership number and fund compliance letter).
- Proof of Right to Work in Australia. This is your Passport, Birth Certificate or Visa.
- Contact details for two current referees that you directly reported to.
How and when am I paid?
All TPPs are paid by electronic funds transfer to their nominated bank account each week
on a Wednesday.
How do I ensure that I am paid on time?
You must fax your timesheet to no later than 10:00am Monday in order to be paid that week. Late timesheets will not be paid within the correct pay cycle.
Contact your Recruitment Coordinator to verify successful receipt if you are concerned. The relevant fax number you need to use will be on your timesheet.
If it is your first time working as a Sage MicrOpay TPP, you must also have completed and returned the following documents to MicrOpay:
- Temp – New Employee Details Form.
- Tax File Number Declaration. Please note that you must complete a tax form with your Tax File Number (TFN) as legally we are unable to accept an email or fax with your TFN number on it.
- Employment Agreement (signed to indicate your acceptance).
- Proof of Right to work in Australia.
- Privacy Statement (signed and completed).
The payroll forms are included in your Induction Kit however they can also be downloaded from our website or provided to you upon request to your Recruitment Coordinator.
Where do I get a timesheet from?
A timesheet will be provided to you in your Induction Kit or you can download one from our website. Alternatively call or email your Recruitment Coordinator and ask them to send a timesheet to you.
What happens if my manager is unavailable to authorise my timesheet?
Arrange for another representative from the organisation to authorise the timesheet on your manager’s behalf. Check with your consultant that this representative is acceptable. We always recommend that you get your timesheet signed off on Friday before you leave to
avoid any chance of missing the payroll deadline due to not having your timesheet signed.
How much will I be paid?
Your remuneration will be negotiated between you and your Sage MicrOpay Recruitment Consultant. We pay competitive rates which take into account market factors as well as the complexities of the job, your expertise and travel distance. Your remuneration is inclusive of any annual leave loading, public holiday pay, casual loading payable under any act or legislation, and statutory superannuation. Any entitlements to overtime, meal allowance or travel allowance will be paid in addition to this rate according to the relevant state award. If any assignment specifications change from the original brief, contact your consultant immediately as an adjustment in your pay may be due. Please note your hourly rate is highly confidential and should only be discussed with your Consultant.
What happens with Tax and Superannuation?
Even though you are working at a client site for us you're a Sage MicrOpay employee. That means we cover you for Worker's Compensation and Superannuation, and we also pay your weekly income tax for you. At the end of the financial year, we'll send you a PAYG Summary to submit with your Tax Return.
If you do not nominate a specific Superannuation fund, then Sage MicrOpay Recruitment will deposit superannuation contributions into our default fund, REST. Please note that you are not paid super if your monthly salary does not reach $450. If you do not see superannuation allocated on your payslip it may mean you have not reached the $450 threshold for that
month yet.
What do I do if I am sick?
Call your Consultant at 8.30am so that they can inform the client and find a replacement if necessary. As a TPP you are not paid for any sick leave.
Is it possible to take time off whilst on assignment?
We would not expect you to need time off in short-term assignments (ie less than a week or two). If you are attending interviews for permanent jobs, they should be made outside of normal business hours where possible. Otherwise, always check with your consultant first (not the client) no matter how little time off is needed so that your consultant can liaise with the client.
What do I do if my contact details change?
We require any changes in writing so please email or fax your Recruitment Coordinator and advise them of the changes as soon as practicable.
How are pay slips sent out?
Sage Micropay Recruitment automatically send out your pay slip via email. The payslip will set out all details required under relevant legislation, including details of gross and net pay, deductions and employee/employer superannuation contribution. If you do not have an email address or prefer that we post your pay slip, please advise your Recruitment Coordinator or email recruitment@micropay.com.au
What do I do if I have queries whilst on assignment?
If you have any queries relating to:
- Procedures for tasks that you are given
- The client’s internal procedures
- The facilities at the client’s site
- The working hours
do not hesitate to ask the client.
If, however, you have queries or problems with the assignment as a whole, please call your Recruitment Consultant to discuss.
What if I’m not happy in the job?
Call your consultant as they are the best person to resolve any issues or problems.
What should you do if you have an OH&S concern or identify a possible hazard?
Talk to your Host Employer Manager or the client OHS representative and also call your consultant as soon as possible.
What should I do if I injure myself whilst working at the client’s premises?
Contact your Host Employer First-Aid Officer immediately if you require medical attention. Report the accident as soon as practicable to your Host Employer Manager and your Consultant at Sage Micropay Recruitment. You will need to complete an Accident/Incident Report that your Consultant will provide.
How should I dress when on assignment?
Sage Micropay Recruitment expects that all TPPs maintain a high standard of personal appearance and professional image. Your consultant should advise you on the work environment at the client’s premises and appropriate attire before you start but if in doubt, it is always better to be overdressed than underdressed until you can see for yourself the standard of dress.
Can I use my mobile phone when on assignment?
During working hours at the client site, personal phone calls should be kept to an absolute minimum. It is best to turn your phone off and ensure that you have a voicemail facility whereby you can retrieve messages during breaks. Any phone calls you need to make should be made during breaks or after work, not on the client’s time.
Will you look for permanent work for me while I am temping?
Yes, we will. You just need to ensure that your consultant understands that you are also looking for permanent work. We have consultants who specialise in permanent work so you may need to meet them too.
